New Suzuki Kizashi on its way to the UK
‘A sign of great things to come’ is the English translation of the Japanese word ‘Kizashi’. Suzuki obviously sees this as good sign as it is the name of their latest European offering. The Kizashi is already on sale in the USA and Australia, but now the elegant saloon car is on its way to the UK and will appear in showrooms later this year.
The new Suzuki Kizashi was tested in areas as diverse as Death Valley in the USA and the winding country lanes of England. The Kizashi will only be available in a single specification with a 178PS 2.4-litre petrol engine under the bonnet and will be capable of 0-62mph in just 7.8 seconds. It will feature an automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT) set-up with steering wheel-mounted paddles for manual shifts.
Exciting features inside the new Kizashi will include leather upholstery, electric heated front seats, cruise control, keyless entry, air conditioning, CD player and seven airbags as standard. The Kizashi will be spacious, sporty and muscular, with switchable all-wheel drive an attractive feature.
Suzuki is also considering introducing a 4x4 version of the Swift to Britain. With the particularly bad winters of the last couple of years affecting a large number of the population, this is sure to be a popular option, especially for those wanting the extra security of a 4x4, but without the proportions.
